It is interesting to note that there is only Tom Briscoe selected who doesn't play for a top 5 club.

There isn't. It's once again lets put a loose forward (Sinfield or O'Loughlin) at stand off by the looks of it. Great squad selection by McBanana . Also the average age of the props is about 473.

 It's a joke really, I assume that if this wasnt mid season Widdop would be a cert for the 6 shirt, thing is you really should have at least 2 viable options in each position .. and playing back row players who hate playing in the halves doesnt sound viable to me

Perhaps Wilkin will play 6, as he's played there recently for us?

For the four nations we will have Widdop and Ellis to add to that squad. So there is somebody to play 6, depending on how Jonny kicks on he could be in contention too. I would have liked to see Mossop from Wigan have a go against the exiles because his form has been very good and he is young. But oh well, lets stick with the same old faces that haven't had any chance of winning for a long time.

TBH I think McBanana could achieve the impossible .. I think he could coach the mighty green machine into losing againt St Pats so even if he picked a decent squad I still wouldnt fancy us when it mattered

This is the ideal game to experiment with potential new talent. It's a no-risk game. But the international coach we have who has achieved nothing whatsoever in his coaching career so far has chosen the dullest, most predictable squad ever, some of whom will not be young enough to play in the world cup (which I thought we were supposed to be preparing for?).

Normally i'd say pick a team to win a game not win one in x amount of years but I dont really see the value of flogging players like Peacock who is just back from injury and has nothing left to prove (this is basically a posh friendly)
