ive called this bloke rotten in the past..(but apart from the wigan try that was yards forward)..for me it was the best refereeing display of the season.

Was it the referee though or the players? There were passages of that game where there was simply nothing he had to do. The players were ultra disciplined, not wanting to give away penalties.

yep, i think we went the whole first half without a penalty? can anyone confirm that, i was pretty drunk!

I think there were two given out in the first half. But I'd have to watch the match back to check.

Thought he gave Saints everything.

He let both teams lie on ALOT, Saints (Roby in paticular) reallllllly slowed the play the ball down.

Yeah, except that forward pass call that would have given us the match. That forward pass call never came. So he gave us nothing.

Both teams received some 50/50 calls, thought he did well in general, though there were a few times he could have easily blown for offside.

When watching the replay last night I heard Eddie say the ref has just given his first penalty of the match and we are in the 30 something minute of the game.
