Early Warning - Road Works : Sun Apr 17, 2011 10:01 am  

Quick heads up on the road situation.

There are road works on the A49 Warrington Road at Newtown by ATS tyres and Rathbones bakery. It also means that the road from Billinge (Billinge road/Victoria road) junction with Warrington Road is closed.

I'm not sure if these works will be suspended of finished by Friday.

I've just been to ATS to have a tyre repaired and the traffic is horrendous.

It was horrendous Sunday morning 11.00 going to BQ.
Come off the motorway at Orrell and go through Pemberton.

You better pray it does because the entire area has been a disaster for months.

Personally I wouldnt be going anywhere near, just in case.

I've been driving Wigan games from Thatto heath this season and with only 1 Catalan's fan other week the traffic was still really bad i've tried all directions but road works at every turn off .So I'm not even attempting car this week .Train for me

I'd say best thing do is when you get caught in that traffic, park up for a 15 min walk.
