Lancashire cup U15 final Bold vs Pats : Mon Feb 28, 2011 2:14 am  

Bold won 23-10 on Saturday. This Bold team have won nearlly every trophy available for the last 3 years, including beating there Yorkshire rivals in the war of the roses.

One very special player playing for that Bold team who absolutely destroyed a Wigan St Pats team featuring a number of England youth players. He won the man of the match and reminds me so much of Sam Tomkins in his play. He'll be playing for the Saints U15's this season.

I got told yesterday that Wigan have signed five of those lads from Bold and Five from St. Pats.

He plays fullback. Cracking player.

I think you've been told wrong Rogues about the 5 Bold players signing for Wigan. From my memory it's only 2.

It was strange at Orrell yesterday, there were about ten people sat behind me, all associated with the Bold Club, and shouting for Wigan.
The person who told me is involved at Wigan, but it was just a conversation at half time. He did say Bold were excellent and fully deserved their win. He also said that Wigan had signed four or five of the Pats side.

Is the lad you refer to DH?

Dave Hewitt Saints have him signed

Wigan only have 1 player signed from Bold U15

Yes it is DH. Won Man Of The Match.

Some cracking players playing for St pats and yes Wigan have signed them the best of them all.

I watched the Bold 15's game the week before and Hewitt does indeed look a very talented kid.

There are a lot of talented kids coming through at Bold in several of the age groups and many in the 15's and 16's are on scholarships currently.
