Magic sponge? Deep heat? Tiger balm?

Maybe its just a good physio -

"What's up Mike?"
"My ankel Doc."
"Right, come on in, pants off."

im pretty sure he cant have ruptured the ligaments, if he managed to play through it and run like he did for that break in the second half, especially if he thinks he just needs to rest it for a few weeks.

Agreed. Essentially, it sounds like a badly sprained ankle.

I did my ligaments dancing as a teenager and I carried on through the show, only the day after it was ballooned and I had to have in cast for 6 weeks then another 6 weeks intense physio - now I'm a girl and if I can do I'm sure he can ha ha :D

Re: Is there a Doctor in the house? : Wed Oct 27, 2010 12:58 pm
Seeing as he played all/most of the second half with the injury he must be a 'freak' with his workrate. He finished 3rd in metre's gained in the England team for last weeks match. The top two were :- 1st. Jammer, 2nd. Roby and 3rd Shenton. If it had been as bad as people were making out then no way would he have been able to continue making so many metres or even last out the match. I just hope he hasn't suffered any long-term damage as a result of staying on the pitch so long.

Maybe he has twice as many ankle ligaments has anybody else and has only damaged half of them. Also Mr Shenton said he is a quick healer which is a bit of a relief.

Here are Mr Shenton's words on his injury. I feel sorry for him. He was injured in the last Four Nations too as well, wasn't he?

Aye, in the final, it led to our utter collapse.
