While I understand what you say, in reality his devastation isn't important. The team is important. Not only should he never have put up his hand to play, Potter should never have chosen him. We had an injured player on the pitch for 60 minutes but we also had changes in our lineup that we really didn't need in a playoff match. Both were serious issues that Cunningham put right.
