Here's a sobering thought... : Fri Jun 03, 2016 9:23 pm
We've now no chance of getting in the top 4, and our points gap with the top 4 is such that the "Top Eight" session will be no more than warm-up games for the actual top four. We're cannon-fodder.Next week, we're very likely to be snotted by Catalans, and so also likely to slip down to 6th, or even 7th. We look the worst team in the competition at present, with far more attacking ability shown by both Wakey and Hull KR yesterday.
If Salford hadn't had their 6 point deduction, we'd now be in very real danger of finding ourselves fighting it out for relegation in the middle eights.
How long are we going to let this go, make excuses, spout another pile of steaming clichés and platitudes about "as a group", "need for performance", "looking for consistency" "bad luck", and let a single occasional try blind us to what's right in front of us ?
If we don't make some serious changes, now, then we're in danger of losing our status as one of the big clubs in the competition, and becoming, at best, mid-table mediocrity for years to come.
Sack Cunningham. Wield the axe with the sub-standard roster he's recruited. Stop the rot.
