Conclusion is: unless Roby's missus has had a massive change of heart very recently, the Aussies can tell themselves its "a big chance" all they like, it ain't happening.

Also the only quote I've seen from Brown on this is that they're overstocked in hookers which is why they've let one go.

This has, and will continue to go round for years. Robes is one of only a very few select players who really could be stars in the NRL. He won't be leaving us though.

If he did go (highly unlikely but this would probably be his last chance given his age) he would be near impossible to replace. Our lack of experienced cover for him over the last few seasons would be badly exposed and we'd either end up using Charnock/Lomax or picking up some end of life Aussie. Hopefully just nonsense ..

I think he's earned the right to decide himself. If he wants to go, he should be allowed to. He is right at the end of his peak, one more season and it's eternal decline from then on. We've flogged him to death, so he's earned his leave if he decides to go.

Replacing him wouldn't be as hard as people make out either. The rest of the side is average, and the competition we're in is largely awful, so any NRL level hooker would be fine.

I think that if he'd have wanted to go he would have gone a few years back. he's got a family now and it's a big upheaval for 2 years maximum, which is all he'd go for.

No brainier for me. Even if it's just for a couple of years. They may settle there and be happy. It's a beautiful country with fantastic weather and a excellent quality of life. It would be an amazing experience for his kids.
What's the alternative here? It's freezing & raining most of the time. Yeah we've got some cultural delights such as the Hardshaw centre, the stinky brook, burgies, Johnny Wellies, Purps, some big head on a hill that looks like a bell**d but is it enough to stop someone getting on the plane to Australia?

If he goes, it will be with everyone's blessing. What an amazing club legend he's been.
