I don't get why people are so anti-Manu. Sure he's not the player he was, but he's probably our most dangerous back rower.

It's going to be hard to replace both him and soliola in the same off season. Big blow I think if he goes.

Both Soliola and Manu have gone through poor patches this year. Manu leaving couldn't happen soon enough after Cas away earlier in the year - I think they're replaceable, we just need another BIG body for the pack next year and we'll be at least as good as this year...

I'm not anti Manu, I'm very pro Manu but I think he's showing signs of being a good prop. And was asking the question would he be worth a 2yr deal as a prop.

why the urge to play 2nd rowers at prop? It hasn't worked with Laffranchi, it hasn't worked with LMS. Manu hasn't shown anything like having the talent in the middle of the pitch for long enough minutes to justify a 2 year contract in a new position.

We have props (Amor, Walmsley, Masoe, Thompson, Richards, Beaumont), and we have 2nd rowers (LMS, Vea, Jones, Greenwood, Flanagan, Savelio)

We don't really need Willie Manu (or his salary) in either of those positions.

I completely agree with you. Going back around ten years ago Chris Joynt (similar type of player to Manu) was shunted up to the front row and sank. Its a tactic that's never worked. I can remember John Stankevitch, Mike Bennett and Tim Jonkers playing there on occasion and being smashed all over Knowsley Road. Prop Forward is a specialist position and you need seasoned players there. Manu isn't the answer in my opinion

Just playing devils advocate. I would not put Manu up front either.
