Just thought you may like to know Andy Northey is on the radio Thursday night. For the newly enlisted.... here's his link on the heritage site. http://www.saints.org.uk/saints.org.uk/ ... page_id=10 Played all those moons ago at the start of Super League. He's on BBC Radio Merseyside's Try Time show from 6-7pm.

He was a no nonsense lad, was Andy. I remember he laid out Lee Penny for high tackling him.
A better centre than he was a forward, but couldn't get past Gibbs and Newlove. I think he's coaching in rugby union now - Macclesfield rings a bell.

Got a hat trick in the 80-0 Regal Trophy defeat of Warrington and then, IIRC, got sent off when we played them again the week later in the league for a high tackle on Alan Bateman?

Andy "The Chest" Northey.

Great favourite of mine from the class of 96.

Went to Northampton RU for a couple of seasons. I watched him a few times against Leicester and alike.

Nearly signed for Sheffield Eagles towards the end of his career when he was at Rotherham.

The RL Try Time show has now been moved to 7-8pm. The full one hour show will run.
This is due to the confirmation of David Moyes as Man U manager and BBC Radio Merseyside are having to run their normal 6-7 slot with that feature.
Rugby League is still on for the full hour from 7-8pm and Andy Northy will be the studio guest.

I was in hospital in March and Ray French and Alan Rooney both with try time and match commentary made life a touch more bearable, I am not a lover of Merseyside as a County but I appreciate the radio station now.
