Following on from the 1999 Super League Grand Final! I personally think this was our best Grand Final side. Would have been even better had Paul Newlove not been injured. I did fear the worst when Wigan scored a couple of tries in 3 minute period but that side had grit and determination aswell as flair. Chris Joynt was magnificent that night and to be honest only his performance against Brisbane Broncos the following year betters it. Keiron Cunningham playing the whole 80 minutes with a ripped hamstring a truly inspirational effort...
In Joynt's address to the crowd it will remain with me for the rest of my life "People have questioned our defence this year..... Weve just defended our Super League Crown. See ya later!!!"
