Is everyone hypnotized? Seriously I think the club have convinced the lot of you that turning up to training an hour early and doing lots of community is more important that actually being able to play Rugby.

Scott is an undoubted talent and is easily Super League quality. So he turned out to be a rebel off the field, the club has had him under contract since his early teens, so who is to blame then? If what a player does off the field is more important than what he does on then maybe the club should have been life coaching rather than shipping him off to clubs with drinking cultures like Castleford.

I don't have an issue with Scott off the field, I have an issue with his defence (something else that the club could have helped him with). But where would we be now if players like Goulding, Gleeson and Long had not been given a chance at the club because they didn't live like nuns off it.

Scott's off-field problems and online personality don't especially worry me, but they are symptoms of a problem that also affects him on the field - namely, he's about four and a half cans short of a six pack. Sure, he's energetic and aggressive, but I lost count of the amount of times he changed the momentum of big games in favour of our opponents by giving away mindless penalties last season. The Grand Final was no exception. We are well rid.

When what a player does off field impinges on what happens on field then obviously the off field behaviour is extremely important. He was arrested just before our match at Bradford for example, which we lost I think (certainly didn't win it anyway), putting even more pressure upon a team that at the time was crippled with injuries. That kind of selfish, self-absorbed individual is not what is needed in a team sport. If he had got to grips with his behaviour off field - and he was given a number of chances to do so - then he could certainly have contributed positively to the team on field. As it is he didn't and so he doesn't.

I think we are better without Moore in our squad even though we could do with some more players who have his feistiness.
