Wigan's aggression and numbers in the tackle prevent us from offloading. We offloaded plenty of times against Leeds the previous week.
We did - but that's an exception rather than the norm.
Wigan shoot up and get 3 or 4 in the tackle, wrapping up the ball.
There were plenty of opportunities to offload. Wigan's defence was good - but it wasn't good enough to prevent guys like Soliola, Puletua and LMS from generating at least some second-phase (even if it's just bump-and-pass). The truth is there was very often no-one close enough in support to pass to - or no attempt to release was made at all. Puletua was playing the yardage game from the first minute to the last. Second-phase possession seemed to be nowhere in his mind. Which is bonkers when you remember that he spent the best part of a decade generating such against far tougher defences than Wigan's.
