Chance of a delay on the road before Sunday's game : Wed Feb 29, 2012 8:07 am
If you are travelling to the Galpharm on Sunday, this is to warn you of a possible delay en route. Well there will be if you decide to visit the Rugby League Heritage Centre beforehand. It is situated in the basement of the George Hotel which is a hundred yards from Huddersfield railway station. The centre has a rare collection of rugby league memorabilia: ancient caps, jerseys and boots, valuable medals and trophies, old programmes, newspaper cuttings and century old digitised photographs.
This unique visitor attraction charts the progress of the game since 1895 in a user friendly format that will appeal to people of all ages.
You can also see around 200 prints in various public parts of the hotel before viewing the main displays in the purpose built exhibition hall.
Admission is free although donations are always welcome and there is also a small shop on the left hand side as you enter. On sale are a collection of books, novels, magazines (many with a strong St Helens connection), DVDs, and RLHC tee shirts and pens.
Enjoy your visit.
