Salford fan here- Can I just say I had a wonderful night! Magnificent stadium, think it's my new number 1 now (just beats hulls) am obviously happy with our performance as I thought we worried u a bit and the lads gave100% mr long showed his influence. Back to the stadium, thought u showed us how to do it! Very dignified and emotional! Wonderful to see some of the heroes of past! Loved the little touches around the ground and loved the fact that I was there for the 1st game. Great day, great game and hope you guys have a good seaso. The main thing that bugs me about our new stadium is that our chairman and the powers that be keep referring to it as a facility! Your chairman referred to your's as a home, and it felt like it! Good luck and hope u stick the pies there!

Really pleased to see this thread appear, very refreshing to read so many positive posts without them being drowned out by negatives.

I think some certain posters had their head in the sand after the Widnes game and couldn't bring themselves to admit the was a lot of teething problems as we posted on here.

We wasn't bagging the club or the stadium, we was putting our constructive views on the problems yet certain posters like pinner took it to heart.

IMHO these problems wouldn't have been sorted without the feedback of the fans. Anyone with half a brain knows what the McManus and club have done to get this stadium and everyone is so greatful and proud.

The difference on Friday to the game against Widnes was unreal, it run like clock work and big credit to the fans for giving the club the feedback and hiding their head in the sand and pretending everything is all good and well

I already can't wait for the Catalan game!

One of the great things about our new stadium is that going there feels like going to an event, something really special. There is just that feel about the place. Wonderful, wonderful. Loved the evening.

Yeah, fully agree with that.

Whilst I agree there were some people who didn't want to admit to there being issues, I think that for many it was more a case that a number of fans seemed more keen to point out the negatives rather than highlight the positives.

Additionally once one or two people had commented on what went wrong, dozens more people posting on here, on Redvee, on the official site and on the social network platforms about what had by then become very obvious concerns to fans and the club, becomes monotonous and appears more like people just looking for an excuse for a good old whinge.

What got me particularly is that whilst it's great for people to come here and discuss things, you can guarantee that the majority of those people would have made no effort to contact the club directly to offer their constructive criticisms.

I'm of the opinion that the club would've been only too aware of things like; the puddles on the concourse, the potential for there to be problems with the turnstyles, and issues with the PA system, themselves before the events, and things like; the over-crowding of the west terrace, and the bar service issues during or immediately after the friendly, but then that was the main reason for holding the two ramp-up events in the first place.

It felt alot like being at a final to me, its going to take time for it to feel like home, the overall stadium is so immense, its just not your usual box type staium and that makes it feel so special. When it finally warms up a bit those concourses will be a great place to be.

Did you bring your glasses? as the turnstiles at Saints are all clearly numbered up, and have in big white writing on them signage saying things like NW TURNSTILE, E TURNSTILE, there are also signs outside the ground pointing you to the locations of the turnstile blocks

Our route got us inside the ring of signs before we could see them. Which means you can walk all night inside the perimeter and never see them. And even 20/20 vision is useless if the stewards themselves don't seem to understand the seating plan. We were directed twice to the wrong turnstile. Worse still the guy scanning the tickets didn't pick up the fact that our cards didn't match the correct entrance. This is in itself a major flaw as safety inside the stadium is entirely dependent on people being admitted ONLY to the correct block. With no adequate checks you could, in theory, see large numbers of people entering into areas which are already full. Which was precisely the problem at Hillsborough.

I just wonder how many people didn't swap their West stand tickets for the East as the club requested.

What did you do parachute in? there are signs on McManus drive , at the top of the steps off PX lane and entering viua Tescos , and as was said they were on each turnstile as well , agreed the ticket issue should have been spotted but it is still early days
