For me I agree mostly with everything posted, and on a social networking site which shall be kept nameless, a lot of fans posting on the Official Saints RLFC page were rating Jamie Foster as Man of the Match... He may have scored 18 of the 42 points but defensively and under the high ball he was somewhat lacking... he has in his defence somehow found an extra yard of pace, which took him round a few defenders early doors, but he was letting too much ball bounce after it had gone up high and was positionally poor, Meli too.

Makinson is looking more and more likely to be our next starting full back upon Wellos retirement and what a full back he will be...

Congratulations must go to Royce and the back room staff for developing such wonderful talent we have in our ranks

Agree that Foster isnt as good as people say he is, but hopefully will develop into a great player.

Maybe I missed a few things with Perry, or maybe im just comparing him to Graham who is the ultimate modern day prop.
Really hope saints can compete without Graham.

Foster looks unwilling to puy his body on the line, perhaps he should stick to the modelling

Did he? I remeber a couple of times he came in from the wing to hit the ball carrier and timed it well. I also seem to remember him going up for a high ball without a problem. Also, when he finished his try by stepping inside the full back, i thought it showed a bit more finishing confidence than perhaps he's shown (plus he was motoring at the same time). I'd also say he's got a bit of extra meat on his bones now.

Aye, he looked a bit wobbly with some of the kicks, but I didn't see a lack of commitment.

I can't understand the criticism of Perry at all - he was our standout forward by some distance for me and was about the only one to give the Widnes pack any problems hitting the line. He probably had his best performance in a Saints shirt (not saying much mind you I know) which is very encouraging after his nightmare last season and the doubts that that has inevitably created in us all.
