Rugby League in the Ashton Festival : Wed Aug 31, 2011 3:02 pm
The Ashton Festival will be running from the 12th to the 23rd September this year. I have been invited to give a talk about my four novels One Winter, One Spring, One Summer and One Autumn all of which have a strong Rugby League background.I'll talk about what inspired me to start writing, how I wrote the first page, the Knowsley Road connection, tales from Pilkingtons and the B.I. at Prescot, the reaction from the film world while also encouraging others to do what I have done and write a novel based around their own life and times.
My event starts at 2 p.m. in Ashton Library and will finish in good time to enable any one present to get home, have their tea and get to the Sprayhurst Social Club in Boundary Road for the launch of Paul Loughlin's autobiography.
Due to the size of the venue, tickets have been limited in number and have to be collected beforehand from Ashton Library.
Admission is free though and refreshments will be provided.
