Somersetsaint - asking for clarification of a ruling is different from what Rod said, which was that Wane/Shane/whateverhisnameis was asking for advice on how to avoid penalties in the second half.

According to the GMR phone in the half time conversation didnt take place, dont know where Sky have got this information from in the first place. Have just watched the game back and Shaun Wane is seen in our dressing room at half time, Eddie Hemmings doesnt mention that after the game even though the cameras never stopped rolling when Madge addressed the team at half time.

Have you EVER started a thread that isn't something to do with Wigan?? I respect a lot of posters on here and have great banter with a few of them but your Wigan hatred and obsession is both cringeworthy and pathetic. Get a grip.

Give over, the thread was started questioning whether it was within the rules to do something, which some posters said there was nothing wrong with. It only lost focus when some wigan troll reeled a couple in.

Nothing wrong with asking the ref's advice. We all want to see a game with as few penalties as possible. I used to do it all the time when I was playing (union that was) and the ref was nearly always happy to advice me.

Hardly. It's another thinly veiled dig at Wigan, as usual from this poster. If it were saints coaching staff to have asked a question of the ref no doubt it wouldn't have been posted and even if it had it would more than likely been in praise of the coaching staff.

How any one can see a fault with asking the officials anything during a match I'll never know.

And we all know what we get with said poster, so there's no need for anyone to have a tittylip about it. We've had a discussion on the forum and the general concencous is that there's nothing wrong, even when carried ouot by our derby rivals.

But you must admit, the thought of Wane's frame in the refs room at half time asking "politely" while Silverwood cowers in the corner is quite amusing.

Which poster? Me? I wrote the OP, after all.

I can assure you that if I wanted to have a dig at Wigan, it wouldn't be 'thinly veiled'. My digs at Wigan are never 'thinly veiled'.

Eddie Hemmings questioned whether coaches chatting to refs at halftime was legal and I asked the same question, to see if anyone knew. Nobody has actually provided evidence that it is either legal or illegal so I'm still in the dark about it.
