Saw they panned to the flag tonight. Fantastic reception for a true Saints legend and a hero. He is a massive favourite of mine, I love him to pieces despite my criticism of his performances this season.

Thanks for the effort, the blood, the broken bones, the smashed faces, the tears and the glory. Love you to pieces, even if I did hide behind my hands and scream like a girl when the bomb went up tonight as I knew what was coming.

will never big up a saints player but he's outstanding. that tackle in the semi on charnley (could be wrong) was top class. kept
saints in the game. brilliant herding and a brilliant tackle.

I think he's gone a season too far, bloody brilliant player let down by zero pace, his positional sense is 2nd to none in this league

Slightly different skew on this for me

"bloody brilliant player despite a lack of blistering pace"

If he had a turn of pace to add to all the talents he possesses he would probably have been the best fullback in the world for a long period of time.

Couple this with being an excellent professional and with the way he conducts himself ( eg the way he applauded the Warrington fans after the game when we finally turned you over at Widnes earlier this season ) and you do have a modern day rugby league legend.

I thought wello looked dodgy under the high ball again. It's strange that he's started dropping high balls as that's something that really doesn't leave a player.

My only theory on this, he's lacking confidence and has started to doubt his ability.

Yeah, but that was down to our backline snoozing and not getting back quick enough to cover the other side of the pitch. Wello's brilliant fullback work wasted thanks to our continued problems with right edge defence.
