If we win on Friday, will this suddenly mean we are odds on to win the GF???
I'm just getting my swing o meter adjusted so I know how to over react next week in line with everyone else, as I feel I've missed the notification of the end of the world this week that has got everyone so suddenly up in arms.
We are currently 2 points off Wigan, Wigan, Huddersfield and Warrington all have to play each other so they are all going to knock points and spots of each other.
Huddersfield tonight have le Catalans who are hardly a side of easy beats.
Let's imagine the top 3 win this weekend and wigan win their game in hand. That makes Wigan 2 games better than us and the other 2 a game and a half ahead of us. It's hardly an insomountable lead. I reckon we'll still make at least one of the finals this year. I think top spot is more or less gone, but top 3 is still a possibility. Given this at the start of the year with the injuries, the new coaching set up and the Eastmond fiasco. For a side in decline and looking to rebuild we are doing pretty well. It's hardly the drop into oblivion that most teams suffer from after being at the top. Anyone here wanting a slide like Bradford? Or like what Wigan suffered in the year of agent milward?
As for signings next year. I would not hold my breath. We have our 5 non-fed already signed, so we can only either bring through the academy or sign from another SL club. Can't see many props of Graham standard coming from either of those sourses. So it will be down to the coach to bring our own players on and down to the fans, not to expect Megennis to be a Graham in 1 season. Graham was not Graham in 1 season. he played understudy for 2 or 3 years as a prop, before being the Graham we know today.
For this season, I'm looking forward to clough returning, bringing a bit of sixe back to our pack and doing the boring work of getting bashed in the tackle. Rather than stopping before the tackling line like many of our pack did yesterday.
