This is why we need a much stronger London presence - kill the Harlequins branding, do some research and relocate to an area where they're not competing with the stronghold of union, and have enough backing to survive and market themselves for a while - and also get the RLWC2013 to places like Bristol who have an appetite for RL are genuinely willing to spread the national profile of the game
Also, we bloody need to win an international series. I actually think our backs are looking a better prospect than they have done (Yeaman with Briscoe looking surprisingly good this year, Tomkins fullback, Shenton is looking even stronger since his move to Saints, Widdop and maybe Brough in the halves) and then we've got the ingredients for a strong England pack as usual... McNamara as coach doesn't fill me with confidence though.
Stuff like Salford's new stadium, Cas and/or Wakey getting theirs would strengthen such clubs significantly, give more impetus for investors to come on board and shore them up even more on and off the pitch, crowds and revenue would be up, SL's competitiveness and viability increases...
All these scenarios coming to fruition (difficult...!) would do wonders for international and national profile, and improve our chances of a good TV deal and a stronger salary cap accordingly, and thus we stem the exodus of our top players to the Southern Hemisphere
