Shenton tackled everything along with Gardner, but the no7 was merely a speedbump.
How no7 will cope defensively in union is beyond me. Those big 18 stone second rowers, props and Flankers will just run over him.
FWIW Quins clearly targeted no7 and it paid massive dividends, regardless of who ran at him, it was either a tackle bust, clean break or sucking in Shenton and Gardner to cover which then left our defence in tatters for the next tackle.
It was also noticable how on a number of occassions close to the line the players seemed reluctant to help out no7 and slide across in the defensive line.
no7 is therefore imo having a cancerous influence on the "team".
