Every player needs to put himeslf and his family first. If jammer can make a better life, eaern more money by going to oz then who can blame him?
It's the way the player goes about his move which matters to the club and fans ( TORRES FOR EXAMPLE). It's pretty clear that jammer loves saints as he's said many times, he's give everything for saints in every game he plays and he's always been honest in the fact he'd like to try out the NRL.
Jammer should make the right choice for him, if that means the NRL then i will wish him all the best and thank him for the great years service he's give saints.
He has handeld the whole situation very well without showing any lack of respect to saints.
On the other hand, i think kyle eastmond has no respect for the club thats give him the chance to be the player he is. He's never come out and said he loves the club or been honest and said he wants to stay or go.
IMO kyle will go where the most money is which i don't blame him for but he should just be honest and make his mind up. Going to union games as a guest is showing lack of respect to the club.
If im being honest, i'd rather see saints get shut off kyle, his heart is not at saints.
Gotta say I think you're being a bit harsh there and perhaps making wild assumptions based on the fact that actually Kyle himself hasn't said anything at all in public.
Whilst I understand how you could take his lack of quotes in the press as Kyle not committing himself to the club, it could also be taken as him being professional and not adding fuel to the rumours that he's already decided he's leaving.
Frankly we don't know what the situation with Kyle exactly is, other than reports in the media that he's been visiting a number of Union clubs, and I'd hazard a guess that agents are key drivers in such meetings & subsequent paper-talk. We know that Jammer stayed in Australia following the Internationals to speak to representatives from several NRL clubs.
Lets not forget that the club themselves haven't commented on talks either, they've not confirmed nor denied that they have allowed Kyle to have talks with any other club of either code and tbh I wouldn't expect them to until such time as they have decided/resigned to let him go, I would certainly imagine they were aware Kyle was visiting Bath/Sale whoever.
Additionally if I recall correctly there were not comments made about Roby's decision to stay (or go) prior to his signing a new contract.
With regards to the Torres situation, the main reasons fans reacted as they did towards his move were a little different to this situation:
1) Torres had released a statement less than 2-3 weeks prior that he was happy at and committed to the club.
2) He had stated a number of times publicly that he would not play for another premier league club.
3) He decided to leave for one of Liverpool's most hated recent rivals as opposed to waiting until the end of the season (a season which appeared to be turning a corner & at a time that was seeing the new owners show willing to invest in the team) when he would have been allowed to leave with the greatest of respect & goodwill to any club outside of the premier league.
4) He waited until 3 days prior to the window closing before handing in a transfer request, this was done following Chelsea's first bid of this window and prior to the completion of Luis Suarez's transfer, a player being brought in to help take some of the pressure and burden off his shoulders. The timing of his transfer request meant that Liverpool would have had little to no time to replace him like for like - as it happened the Carroll deal became dependent on the amount Chelsea were prepared to pay for Torres. In the end led Liverpool paid more money for a player with less than a season of Premier League football under his belt and who was outscored in the championship by (amongst others) Michael Chopra when for a similar amount Barcelona got World Cup & European Championship winner David Villa.
Chelsea had bid for Torres previously on at least 1 other occasion and I was made clear to them that he was not for sale both then and on their first offer this window.
Now if Kyle came out tomorrow and said he was staying, then on Friday signed for Wigan then I might agree with you
