Fair play to the lad for playing on, but I have been impressed with how he's brave at putting his body on the line when I've seen him play for Cas. If you remember the try he got at KR the other month, he's not shy of taking a whack to get over the line.

the same ankle injuries they "deal" with for kyle? the ones that come back almost every time he plays?

even though im a wire fan, i think shenton is a great talent, and i hope that this is treated as seriously as possible, as if not, it could have a big effect on his prolonged future.

Shenton looked a real threat against the Kiwis, showed good pace too when he broke the line. I hope he'll show us more of the same in 2011.

Yeah this confused me too. After watching softball for years, a "ruptured achilles" was 9 months if i remembered correctly. So no surgery baffles me. A quick google found me a page with this on it though:

"The ruptured ligament on the upper ankle joint describes a partial or complete rupture of one or several ligament structures. A painful swelling and bruise is evident on the affected joint. The treatment of ruptured ligaments is made primarily by putting the ankle at rest for 2-6 weeks or surgically by suturing or fixation of torn bone fragments."

So it is a scientific possibility that he could have done it and not need to go under the knife. I hope so, he seems to have real pace and as we all know getting surgery on an ankle is never good for the turbo GL Shenton.
