Superintendent John Graves, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "The atmosphere yesterday was the best we have experienced when policing the grand final.
"The vast majority of fans responded very well to the restrictions in place, particularly in relation to alcohol and there was minimal disorder.
"This led to a warm and friendly atmosphere both in the run up to the game and afterwards, which made the whole day enjoyable."
Only eight arrested for public disorder/drunk and disorderly, and fifteen removed from the stadium. Out of 71,500 people, many of whom will have been on the pop all day, that's bloody good going.
