Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill)

So what? We're only six games in. Graham is known for his durability. See how they compare in another six rounds and I may think that Graham will struggle to get the metre maker award for the third season running.

Fielden made more tackle busts and more metres per carry than Graham last season. Fielden also made more tackles.

And if he carries on like he has done then he deserves one (at the right cost)

Interesting, but Fielden only made a princely 9cm more than Graham per carry despite carrying the ball 305 times less in 4 more appearances - you would think he would have made many more metres per carry given the comparative workloads.

Fielden's tackle busts are good because his style is often to run in and bounce back then go again. This would be supported by the stats - he made zero clean breaks to Graham's 2.

Fielden made more tackles as he played more games. Graham made more tackles per game than Fielden. Edit: actually that's not quite true if you include marker tackles (as you should) - Fielden does a lot of work there.

Graham scored 7 tries to Fielden's none.

Graham missed less tackles, made fewer errors and gave away fewer penalties despite playing longer spells (and presumably getting more fatigued) than Fielden.

I know which I'd take :D

If there was ever proof that stats don't tell the full story then this is it.

Both of them, they would be a good foil for each other.

I wasn't having a go at Graham, just pointing out that Fielden is nowhere near as poor as many fans would have you believe.

I think that's because, despite his stats, people saw him have some woeful games last season with dropped ball and penalties at vital times.

No doubt he puts a shift in every week though and is still one of the best in the land. His days of powering through to the try line seem long gone (as no tries all last season would support) but he certainly does the job of a good prop.

Haven't seen Wigan play on TV yet this year, but sounds like he's having a bit of a renaissance under MM and finally has the the majority of Wigan fans on side.

he's not up to scratch pal, here he is compared to paul clough, a 21 yr old backrow/prop and he still doesnt come out on top, lots of errors too
