We've hardly been packing an Uzi in the backs for the last two years. Like I said, it's a bit of a risk. But one worth taking, IMO. By moving Wheeler inside it focuses the attack closer to the ruck (a bit like under Millward) and gives two of our players with the best footwork more of the ball. Of course, the pack would need to work just that bit harder (getting over the advantage line consistently with good support from the hookers). But if we can get them on the back foot it gives us a lot more broken field options.
All Dean & Flannery need do is defend as best they can.
