Catch my band, Sacrilege - dates at //www.sacrilegenwobhm.com

For NWOBHM Fans... : Wed Aug 20, 2014 5:30 pm
To try to get away from the pain of being a Broncos fan, I play bass in NWOBHM band SACRILEGE. We have a couple of Yorkshire dates coming up.

On 29 August, we're playing at Mapfest at The Woolpack Live in Doncaster, with a host of other bands.

On 30 August, we're at The Snooty Fox in Wakefield. We'll be shooting our new DVD that night, so it's a chance to rock up and make some noise.

Wonder what we sound like? Check out some highlights from our recent appearance at the Forever Sun Festival https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dpVJ_EwtxE

Hope to see some of you there. Cheers, Jeff

Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?

It's now called the New NWOBHM. Monument are a prime example and surprisingly there is still a decent fan base for it. There has recently been a trend in 70's occult rock resurfacing (Ghost, Devils Blood, Blood Ceremony) so I think the next move could well be to delve into the sounds of NWOBHM. Saxon are still going strong.

New NWOBHM? Should that be NNWOBHM?
Saxon, that brings back memories. Saw them at Hull city hall in the 80's. Got my copy of 'The eagle has landed' signed at HMV as well.

That's another Sacrilege. They adopted the name at a time when we had stopped playing for a time. Good band, though,

A fair number are still going. Maiden are an obvious example, while bands such as Girlschool and Tank have never gone away, although the latter sadly no longer feature the excellent Algy Ward on bass & vocals. There have been some recent reformation, notably Yorkshire's own Vardis, as well as Rock Goddess and Chariot.

Judas Priest's Tyrant, better than anything The Killers, The Script & The Black Keys could ever come up with
