Interstellar - quite difficult to summarise this, without totally failing to do it justice... Suffice to say it's probably the best attempt at dealing with the potential realities of time travel that I've ever seen; it has some vaguely schmaltzy moments, but the space bits are brilliant and the acting and direction are superb. It feels a bit like doing your science homework sometimes, but it's well worth the effort. And if you don't feel love for TARS, something inside you is dead.

9/10 - outstanding.

Agreed with all that,
I'm a closet Matthew Mcconaughey and thought he was superb in this, the interaction between him and his young/old daughter were quite emotional.

Well worth a watch but don't have anything else going on or you'll totally get lost

Just watched Interstellar. I don't think it was as good as the reviews above suggest. Don't get me wrong I don't think I've ever seen anything like and it's brilliantly ambitious and visually amazing however, I think it tries to do and say too much. The human elements of the story were drowned out by the science, and to be honest I found the scientific elements far more interesting than the bland characters, and it says a lot that the most charismatic characters in the film are the robots, and I wish they'd have focused more on the science than the poorly done sentimental stuff.

Lastly, does anyone else get annoyed by the sound in Nolan's films? The music, and sound effects are always ridiculously loud, making the dialogue inaudible at times.

Fast and Furious 7 - I really enjoyed it and it finished as it should have done. Shame that Paul Walker wasn't alive to see the finshed article. It passed the $1 billion mark at the box office after 17 days !!! That's a record I believe. I'll give the film 9/10.

The Hobbit - Battle of the Five Armies.

I love the LotR movies, so I came at The Hobbit with high expectations - which were not met. There was absolutely no need to drag it out to 3 instalments and all of them have failed to engage in the way the original films did - despite the usual fantastic visual effects and great performances from Ian McKellen and Martin Freeman, they were offset by the daft Legolas antics, the inexplicable inclusion of a female version and the totally unnecessary middle act. These films do not appear to have been made with the same loving care that was evident on LoTR.

A disappointing 6/10.

The Avengers 2: 8.5/10

Better than the first one, and as long as you don't go into this expecting anything too intellectual you'll probably love this. Action packed, well acted and it doesn't take itself too seriously, unlike the recent Batman films.
