I thought Holroyd was our best last night, carrying the fight in a well beaten pack at 20. Myler had some spectacular skill at the back, but his positioning is off at FB and his kicking is dreadful.

Thompson had one of his better games for us actually.

Dwyer is terrible at passing but I have never seen a braver player, he gives his all and I respect the guy.

I would be very tempted to start Johnson at either 7 or 9 next week along with Leeming, and have Dwyer come off the bench. Given that Leeming is on a long contract it’ll be interesting to see what we do with Johnson.

To be fair to Myler he’s covering two positions hes FB in defence and HB in attack

Also it’s ok baggin Dwyer but isn’t he out top scorer and got is back in a few games this season, hopefully johnson gets a shot though he looked quality IMO

I don’t think it’s been a great call splitting Myler and Broadbents role, not withstanding Mylers success under the kicks, it’s really not helped Broadbent or attacking shape of any description.

I expected us to beat Leeds tonight given you've got a few more than us out. But lets not pretend Saints couldn't do that to the first choice Leeds lineup. No side in Super League is staying within 18 points of that Saints performance tonight, just complete dominance throughout. But there are actually people on here calling Walmsley a fraud after that performance? He's one of the best props Super League has seen. Some mad stuff being posted on here.

Stick the ones calling Walmsley out on the pitch and get them to tackle him. Awesome performance from a great player every team would want in their line up. Best line hitter in the British game by a distance .

One to chalk off last night. Demolished by a team who no doubt had a rocket up their booty after last week. You could tell by their intensity from the off. It was also their last regular season game at home so no doubt wanted to finish in style.

We had a poor start again which you could put on the coach for not getting them gee'd up, but I also think we look cooked. You can't fault the effort we've put in all year, last night seemed a game too far against a team running hot. We've had so much disruption with injuries this year that I imagine there's a good number putting their bodies online when their bodies are already battered, but we're lacking numbers to give them a proper rest.

I also think that the performance of Walters and Sutcliffe shows why you need some squad rotation. Someone said in another thread that you always play your strongest team. I agree with that but also think you need to keep the fringe players involved, particularly with no reserve league. It's a lot to ask for them to come on and be up to game pace.

This year is a bonus for me. It's been tough for all, but it feels like we've had it tough every week. The fact the Leeming has been one of our best when playing out of position says a lot. Players have been hit with covid and I doubt they're fully over it. There's been players probably coming back from big injuries early, Handley hasn't looked on it this season.

They've done what we've been asking for years and played with pride in the badge. Dwyer for his faults gives it everything he has and them. Not the hoover to take us to the next level, but I have big respect for him. The club have made some good signings for next year and have let players go they could have easily thrown money at. It's been said by Agar that they're looking for a big prop. The future looks bright for the club. This season needs to be done. Give them a good off season and then let's attack next year.

Providing he settles back in and has a good and healthy off season Corey Johnson will be the least spectacular but the best 9 at the club next year and should be the starter every week for me. I was chuffed to bits to see how he played last night. Super kid. Leeming and Lui in halves next week and Johnson at 9 for me if fit.

He wont dart about aimlessly, he wont throw to peoples knees or ears. He just does the job with the minimum of fuss like a proper 9 should. He wont sprint 25 yards to tackle a winger for no reason and leave holes galore in the middle of the park and be knackered after 10 mins cos hes run around like a lunatic.

Corey's weakness is his contact in defence but even now, after 18 months out, hes the best 9 at the club for that and he will improve. He took a bang early last night and was limping quite a bit and still looked good.

Our kids are very good and will learn the standard needed from last night. Saints are the benchmark in this competition. We had too many in last night. The club going forward is in a very healthy position tho.

With a bit of luck Corey could be just as good if not better than a ‘new’ signing

Wasn't surprised by the quality of his distribution or his obvious composure, but was impressed with the physical side of his game. Looked more robust than I expected given his time away and a full pre season will only add to that. Bit of a test for Agar given the praise that has been showered on Leeming, but if he's in any doubt he should ask the likes of Gale, Sezer and Austin who they think should be starting nine.
