He takes the ball from Charnley. He wraps it up and comes away with it, why would Charnley let go of the ball of his own accord there lol, he'd be holding onto it for dear life. Either way it wasn't given as a penalty try or even entertained as one so no, it never did touch the ground and if I was on the end of that decision I think I'd stage a sit in frankly. Though Dwyer did end up in touch and with how papery your defence is we'd have been over anyway

Pointless debating it now. It's done :D

Papery defence? You won by a point, that means your defence is equally as ‘papery’

Well it was tonight. Didn't allude that it wasn't. But we have proven a fair bit that our defence generally is far more resilient in recent times.

And so have we, so I’m not sure what your point is

Frustrating, the game management throughout was poor, and bombed a couple of chances.

The Charnley try was never a try though, was it?

Smith was outstanding, he made a full set of 5 tackles at one point in the first half. He’s still young and learning and will be a stand out player for years if his health stands up.

I’ve watched him from being a kid and it’s always been there, now he’s displaying it on a big stage.
We should start with him and rotate 4 props

Regardless of the result, best contest I've seen at Headingley since the crowds came back. The Charnley "try" was right down the other end from me, so I didn't really pick up on it at the game. What an absolutey shocking decision. Having said that our lack of a quality half back to partner Gale will cost us games like that. He has that left side looking pretty lethal but our right side (despite Hurrell's physical threat) is pretty toothless because nobody is pulling the strings. Will certainly be remedied in 2022.Thought we won the pack battle hands down.

Although already mentioned King's non introduction, with picking L Briscoe on the bench playing less than 10 mins we've effectively played with 15 players voluntarily, between Agar, Gale and T Briscoe we've lacked the nouce to get it over the line

Woody: Can I pour you a draft, Mr. Peterson?
Norm: A little early, isn't it Woody?
Woody: For a beer?
Norm: No, for stupid questions.

As others have said, a really poor last 5 minutes at the end, by some experienced players lost us that tonight. But I thought Briscoe was great bar the late error and we are a much better team with Gale in it. They will be hurting right now but we made plenty of other mistakes tonight that could have made there brainfarts immaterial.
The top 6 maybe out of reach now.

If we don't trust King he shouldn't have been on the bench we should have gone with Thompson instead. Also suggests a contract extension is doubtful. To be fair not players fault think he has looked a decent prospect and I would put today down to poor game management.

Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory.

Agar carries a lot of blame tonight, after a tough game on Thursday against a big side we
Played a better side tonight who had an extra day’s rest with 15 men. The 5 minute Luke Briscoe hooker move was a disaster and not using King at all was insane. Tetevano was shot and Mik now injured.
