I know of 2 cas players with Covid, neither have had a jab and won’t have one. Not having a go at cas as I think this will not be uncommon.

If we bring Austin in this season, does that potentially make us contenders?

Our pack is right up there on it’s day. Two decent half backs to link the backs in and… could be interesting.

Super League and the World Cup should bring in a vaccine bonus, pay the players £200 once they’ve had their first vaccine and another £200 once they are fully vaccinated with their second, I’m sure the vast majority would go for it and it’d lead to less cancelled games.

I’d be disappointed if a lack of take-up of vaccinations among players and club staff was an issue.

This is such a difficult issue. We have seen several players quite badly effected by COVID (Dwyer had it quite bad, Martin and then Tetevano - maybe others). It’s easy to assume superfit athletes are somehow immune to diseases but the virus really doesn’t care.

This thing transcends sport but my view is that vaccination is the only route forward to a normal life again anytime soon. It is not possible to put the genie back in the bottle again.

If it were me I would be applying strong encouragement to all clubs to vaccinate everybody. I might even say that while it’s your choice if you don’t want to take it, you will be stood down because you become a vector for introducing it for everyone else.

The science is pretty clear. People seem to expect a risk-free existence these days and it’s a fantasy.

It would help if SL banned players from shaking fans hands and hugging them after games when matches are being cancelled left, right and centre. Mamo was shaking hands and hugging any supporter he could get his hands on. If he then gets Covid and causes Wanky to have 2-3 matches to be cancelled then it is not a very good look at all.

Agree. In terms of player renumeration would you really wanting to be spending big money on players who might be off sick with it for weeks at a time? I note Trueman was likening it to flu on social media the other day. Sad really.

I'm all for players being accessible to fans and all that, but they really need training in how to brand themselves and their role as ambassadors and role models. One or two post things which just look really ignorant.

I know it's contentious but I'd be asking all staff/players to get quadruple-jabbed or whatever, and then still bubble up where possible. If that happened you could almost see a point where no postponements are required, we just crack on because people would have all the protection available. One or two might still get ill but most will sail on. Then again it's working within Govt guidelines too with the pings and what have you. All a bit of a mess really.

Sadly true and the 2 I’m aware of are not even big.

It's a personal choice and I'd never criticize someone for their choice, I'm mildly irritated by all these kind of militant people who are tribal and go mental at anyone who's in a 'different camp' to them. However, I would question the logic. Surely the least risky option is to get a watered-down version of the virus, get the antibodies and then there's less risk if you come upon the virus, rather than not getting it, and then risk getting the full virus.

I've been jabbed as I don't want to potentially get a virus and be put out of commission for a week or two, I'm active and I hate not being able to use my time productively.

So much wrong with this, I wouldn't even know where to begin!
