Wakefield but near to Leeds!

Didn`t Saints withdraw a couple or so of their players along with refusing to release others for the England trial game?
Was that a blatant attempt to rest players?

"Brian McDermott, with a wry smile, nods when asked if he remembers a specific incident which made him realise he was a prick. 'I do', he murmurs."

Yes, Saints were decidedly uncooperative when the wider interests of the game were at stake.
Their attitude really ****ed off other clubs who released the full number of players.

No. The England (and Wigan) doctor sent Lomax and Walmsley home due to injuries. If we wanted to be uncooperative we would have pulled out Knowles as well, as he’s arguably one of our most important and didn’t have a preseason this year so would benefit most from a few weeks off to get the work in.

Or if your referring to our lack of players in the all stars team, I would counter with I’m not really sure who you think should have been getting in. Arguably Sione Mata’utia but other than that, our none England players have been in pretty poor form this year.

But you know, why let facts get in the way.

Ironically I think we should have "played the game" a bit more in our first Cats fixture to give players a rest. I just hope the 2022 season is Covid-free and normalised, as the Rhinos romp back to their pomp.

But they’ve got to play a certain amount of games (I believe 18) before they can actually qualify for the play offs. All it takes is a couple more call offs and then they are buggered.

As things stand currently the 6th play off place is going to be a shoot out between Hull KR, Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers.

So just for a bit of fun
Here are each of these 3 sides remaining fixtures that are currently scheduled to be played and also the current SL table with each clubs games played, League Points Accumulated, % score and also the minimum number of games required to be played by each club in order to reach the 18 matches played to meet the criteria set out to qualify for the play off's.

Out of these remaining fixtures it will be interesting to see if any of these clubs "Play the game" and don't full fill certain fixtures that would appear to be against the top sides and would thus reduce their chances of making the Top 6, And also how many matches are played by each club above the 18 game threshold that are against the lower sides in the table in order to improve the % score ratio

Woody: Can I pour you a draft, Mr. Peterson?
Norm: A little early, isn't it Woody?
Woody: For a beer?
Norm: No, for stupid questions.

Apparently Cas may be struggling to fulfill the Catalan game this weekend.

Cas should face a points deduction and a fine unless they have the 7+ players out due to Covid that was agreed before the start of the season. If Cas are opting out of taking part in certain rounds should they receive the Sky tv money for that round? I don’t think so.
