It would be a very poor time for Sinfield to be trying to leave, right in the middle of the recruitment season for next year. Any time other than May/June/July would be better but right now, if true, it's very unhelpful for 2022 planning.

Overall though I stand by the point that, in this role, Sinfield would not be a particularly catastrophic loss.

agree , coaching wise brian mcd would be turning in his grave , if dead , at all the assistant coaches and managerial wise de gh as still having final say , if he's not being groomed for ceo and left would he be replaced?

Leicester surely cant want him in an administrative role because his job at Leeds in unfulfilled as yet . A coaching job ? Maybe . Or could it be that he's now a nationally recognized figure and the RFU are behind this and want to make him a front man appearing on their big occasions ?

They have specialised coaching for everything in RU, so it wouldn't surprise me if they wanted him as a kicking coach, and offered him money than he's on now. More money, less work, better prospects. I think most people would be tempted if they got a similar offer.

What a dull job that would be - plus he lives in Saddleworth would you want to travel to Leicester 5 days a week for some kicking practise?

I don't know how you managed to interpret some simple facts as "hating" or putting league down. The sports have transferrable skills and many ex-league professionals are transferring them. We're talking about Union because that's the story of the thread.

It's funny how people talk about Union being "bigger" than League, the first RU WC wasn't held until 1987 and they didn't even have a league structure in England until the 1980's.

An inspiring person and someone we all should hope stays in rugby league. Ideally as an influential administrator at the top of the game one day, it could certainly use his values and integrity.
