Jack Smith, a young centre from Fev Lions, now Heworth since his Fev lions team folded, seems to be playing well and making breaks, he's a big lad but iv had my doubts over his Athleticism, looks to be developing well in that area...Played Union until u14's. Needs to keep developing as Max Simpson the year above him and Lloyd M Peters and Sonny Pattinson the year below him are 3 excellent talents at Centre.

Pleased to hear from Marty that Gatus went well again, i mentioned Spear and Davies in the Academy thread as for me, our best 2 players against the Aussie tourists a couple year ago. I think Davies does everything right, but as Marty says, he needs a growth spurt, Spear looks like he's had one...Interested to see how he develops.

Was it Jack Sinfield wearing number 7 in the under 17's game?

Lets not get carried away, put pressure on or make comparisons with Jack. Hes only young.

He will find his own path thru. Hes not Kevin hes Jack. Hes a super kid, i known him all his life and im very proud of him. Just dont want him over hyped, its not fair on him, when hes not even got an academy contract yet.

Hes doing really well so far.

No ones saying he's Kev Marty, but his kicking motion out of hand is almost identical...Theres no harm stating that, does that mean he's going to be half the player Kev was? Absolutely not, he's a super young talent at the minute, like a lot of super young talents we'v got at the club...We'v all been here long enough to know that super talent dosnt end up being fullfilled more often than we'd like..across all clubs.

But theres nothing wrong with discussing and getting excited by the youngsters in our system, famous dad or not. In Jack's case, id be just as excited for his future if he wasnt Kevs son, i just wouldnt have such an obvious likness in there kicking motion to comment on.

I understand that Matt but you should see some of messages ive had in last week or so, pretty crazy
Some have him in world cup squad at end of the year lol. Ive known him since he was 3 week old so maybe just want to protect him.

I know club want to keep him as low key as possible. Its why ive hardly mentioned him.

Yeah i see what your saying, iv seen some comments myself...One saying he'l be better than kev because he's got the pace Burrow had aswel as kevs attributes...Bizzare comments. Unfortunately being Kevs son is somthing Jacks going to have to deal with all the time going forward, Regardless of how good or not he ends up being.

But, I dont think thats an issue on here Marty, my comment on his kicking motion is just that, a comment on the technique of one aspect of his game that looks nearly identical to his dads technique...Because it does. Theres been no camparing them in terms of talent or ability from me or that iv seen on here in general.

I havnt got a clue about Levi Edwards or Max Simpsons parents, but i talk about them as excellent talents all the time aswel, Its not about Kev being Jacks dad for me, its about a young half in our system that looks a super prospect on his own merit...Thats kicking 40/20's with ease, can pass beutifully long and short off both hands, counts numbers, works short sides...Basically all the things we struggle to produce in young halfs in this country...How far that takes him is anyones guess, but he's a young player im very excited to see develop, even if his surname wasnt Sinfield.

My beans are chilled Marty, not sure why you think otherwise, just having a crack about the lad with you...No didnt think you were having a pop, i can see why you would be concerned at the coverage Jacks going to receive with you being so close to him...Just saying that i think it will be fine on here.

The forwards struggled but most of them was 16 year old. Ethan Spear is all arms and legs and ran strongly as did Jack Johnson, 2 big lads, both raw tho. Billy Davies is a good forward but lacks size but hes a good player. London's Euan Parke was outstanding in the 2nd row tho and put on some massive tackles to send our forwards backwards. Certainly one to watch out for and monitor.

The London hooker scored 3 tries and looked pretty quick. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
