Relieved with the 2 points but that was awful, agree with Agar that there was just too much dumb stuff happening.

I saw Sean Longs input mentioned earlier in the season but thought id leave it a few games to see what kind of structures we were implementing...so far, even taking into account our injury situation, id be having a long, hard look at myself if i was the attack coach for this team. We'r running the same 2 option play time and time again...Hit Mellor as lead runner or the fullback out the back, you see that play in the national conference. There needs to be so much more going on around that play for it to work at this level, for a start, actually having a structured plan and setting it up with your earlier tackles in the set to create a numbers advantage...which we dont do.

Really pleased with OConnor and Gannon, read an interview with Terry OConnor where he mentioned Agar had discussed Jarrod at hooker, said he'd played a lot of halfback at community level so his passing game is there. Gannon just looks like a young Moz, superb talent.

Our pack looks very solid and gave us enough platform to score a lot of points so theres somthing to build on, but our Attack in the opposition 20m looks absolutely dreadful.

Spot on with everything Matt.
Pack looks solid. Love the look of Gannon.
I could see O’Connor as a hooker. Great work rate and distribution.
And yeh, Longs influence is non-existent at the moment.
I can sense many on here jumping up and down saying we’ve been decimated by injuries in the halves all season!!!
Yes, true.
But what does Long do in training?
Does he turn up and Agar tell him to go home because the halves are injured?
No. He works with what he’s got. That’s what he’s paid to do.

Wasnt pretty, wasnt fluid, most of the time it wasnt organised but again the effort was there in bucketloads. The criticism of the team which is clearly giving its all is beyond a joke from our own "supporters". Weve kids all over the park, weve players playing out of position, weve players just returning from injury and around 10 players out. What the hell are you expecting the team to look like?...

About sums it up. It isn't a new phenomenon. I can remember in the noughties when Rob, Kev and JJB weren't good enough!

I said the exact same thing about Gannon last night actually. If he turns out like Mozza we will be doing ok. He just reminded me of him around same age last night.

Ive not seen a Leeds forward take to SL at such a young age since Moz. Not even the golden generation looked so at ease. Need to be careful with him at his age though.

It was weird that you were commenting about listening on the radio when it was live on Youtube free to air. Which the club had done a decent job of promoting.

As for suggesting that Rugby League is too complicated, I don't think anyone has ever said that about the sport (although it's more complex than some would like to paint).
I'd hate to see what you think of other sports.

I'm not sure I agree with a zero tolerance approach to high shots being brought into SL like they have in the NRL, but if it helps reduce the amount of stoppages for head knocks, and reduces the amount of wrestling at the play the ball, then it's definitely worth a try. That game was so scrappy.

Gannon and O'connor did really well, and apart from a dumb penalty, I thought Prior was outstanding. The jury is out on Walters for me, his work rate isn't particularly, and he look incredibly slow, even for a back rower, but he's young so we shouldn't expect too much at this stage.

The defence looks solid and hopefully once we get some of our attacking players back we'll have more potency in attack.
No problem with Walters work rate.Several times this season he has done 80 minutes.

The most important thing is effort and commitment. As long as we have that the performances will come as soon as we are regularly able to put out something that resembles our best team.

"People who know about RL" He's an average to ok at best winger & should be nowhere near a Squad striving for GF's.
Tom has been a great servent but is 2yrs at least way past his best.
Mellor has been ok last year but pretty ordinary this year as has Martin.
That's 4 starting spots already thst need better quality before we even look at the quality 6 we desperately need ,through in journeymen like Bodene Thompson its clear this Squad is way off where it needs & aspires to be.

So what you’re saying Marty is you’re equally ‘criticising’ the team as many others you’re saying are a joke for being critical. Yes my comment of briscoe is over the top and I apologise for that though again the frustration is that he’s one of many players who are now simply not the standard required and there’s too many in the squad (recognised starting players)and as you allude to yourself they’re getting contract extensions at the wrong time.

I was making a point re 9s as I agree, though my criticisms of basic skill errors extend to others ie regardless of Sutcliffe being out of position (though once a half) some of his contributions are very poor. Let’s not forget too how down on troops wakey are too it’s not like the opposition were a great threat
