But you can’t say the CC win is a great achievement and then say that the GF was a meaningless debacle.
Cant have it both ways I’m afraid.

I agree with you but I’m sick of reading our own fans belittling the CC win and what it meant to win it.

I don’t think either were a debacle and i can guarantee the players whi won either think that.

Erm you can. They changed the rules mid season, teams were dodging tough away ganes and making use of Covid rules. Was not a full season. Final not played in theatre of dreams, and downgraded to Hull!
CC was only comp that was won in the way it was intended. SL waa ruined by Covid changes...
But besides that we have won more than Wigan, Hull and Wire in past 2 years which ain't a bad achievement...

I think you’re missing everyone’s point on last seasons CC win.
No one is belittling the CC or what is needed to win it.
And of course a trophy is a trophy. I’m sure we all celebrated.

But last season was not a normal season.
We only played 3 games to win the CC!
Come on, hardly the foundations for a trophy laden era is it.

Are you for real?
The CC as played in the way intended?
We come in at QF stage and play 3 games to win it.
Ridiculous comment.

How many games do you usually have to win to win the CC? 4?

The point being we won the games we had to, the rest didn’t and if we were that poor of a side how come nobody beat us to the trophy?

Im not saying the CC win means everything is rosy and were where we need to be but theres a few on here just wave it away as a nothing achievement

To say we are no better than when Furner was here is some top class revisionism.

Sinfield did employ Furner but as any good director would do made a very difficult decision admit he’d made that mistake and did something about it.

That set us back and we have had a pandemic, which has plainly affected the recruitment and retention process. This coupled with an unprecedented injury situation has led to a poor start to the season, but if you think The team under Furner with as many injuries would have competed as well as we have (nearly knocking saints out of the cup without any half backs) then Im sorry but your either blinkered or being disingenuous (IMO)

I do agree with a fair bit of Brodies post but also you make some good points Christopher, let’s also not forget the timing of Covid crisis right when we’ve just paid a fortune for a new stadium rebuild

I would have thought as someone who has had to navigate through the pandemic as a business owner Brodie might have realised how difficult it was and not just wave it away as me saying its an ‘excuse’ it has been difficult for anyone running a business let alone one the size of the leeds club and as you say it came at a terrible time for the club having just rebuilt the stadium.

Thinking it won’t have affected recruiting and retention is ridiculous imo.

Don't think it effected retention and recruitment that much. We did incredibly well to get Tet, and King looks like a good player to me....

Wigan , Saints , Wire, Cas, Hull and Cats have done well with their recruiting and retention. No problems with them Chris. This seems to be becoming your page Christopher.

Maybe they have, doesn’t negate my point that it has affected ours, especially with retention.

Are you able to post without a childish dig?
