They are both around same height mate. There wont be much in it at all. I would probably say Jack was slightly taller tbh.

Good player but getting on a bit and surely we need a prop, not more second rowers unless we're going to let Thompson go?

Absolutely agree we need a prop - but if we can't find one better than what we already have, Sims would be a cracking signing for us. I wouldn't be surprised if we are interested in him. Getting him might be something else because I imagine there will be NRL interest. Ashton and Korbin have both come over to the UK, Korbin's still here and the NRL media is a PITA.. not out of the question.

100% a quality prop is first choice but if not available Sims is significantly bigger and at least a stone heavier than our existing back row options. Hes 6-4 and touching 17 stones and all our other options are less than 16 stones. If we go down that route its Tetevano to Prop where he was very good last night.

Anyone seen much of young Penrith prop Spencer Leniu? 21 yo, would cost almost £200k a year… looks decent on highlights and is being cut due to salary cap.

Does make me wonder what the real value of Mik and Tom is… we really need to keep those boys at the club together.

We signed a second rower in 2006 that made a pretty good prop, could sims go the same way?

Sims can play middle, he's big and hits like a train. Whether he wants to - dunno. He has some pace too and is best used on the edges. Upgrade on Mellor? Yes. Prop? Might be a waste.

I'm just thinking, Thompson, Mellor and Martin are only contracted for 1 more year aren't they? We all expect Gannon to come through, and we've signed Bentley, but Walters has stalled a bit this year and if we were to release the first three then another really good second row might make sense.

Sims might give us another option at 13 to cover for Smith so that Zane can be used exclusively at prop too.

Dunno, but personally would love to see Sims at Leeds. It reminds me a bit of when we signed Matt Adamson, who I'd always admired in the NRL and was delighted when we got him.
