Think we need a bit of perspective regarding the potential signing of Austin. Everyone on here knows we needed a half. Now we are complaining about signing two! We have Sezer and Gale and if we can fit Austin in under the cap I can actually see him covering the Liam Sutcliffe role ( don't laugh).
He can cover 6 and 1 with more pace and threat and a kicking option plus come off the bench when defences are tiring and also potentially play centre or even 13 when Leeds are on top.
Also if we lost either half we are back to Sutcliffe in the same role. On balance if its a straight swap between Konnie and Austin then it makes sense in that we have a much more balanced squad able to cope with injuries when they hit.I know he's not Cooper Cronk but there's not much out there at the moment and I think in the short term the move works for all parties which is why its only a one year deal.
