I’d get rid of Thompson, he hardly plays and is nothing more than average/steady but he is under contract for 2022. Martin is off contract and so is King, King is raw but potential and cheap and has earned another year, easier to get rid of Martin as contract is up, but he is better than King and Thompson, if we can get Thompson off the books, I’d keep Martin and King. Walters Gannon Donaldson will get more time over Thompson anyway.

Thompson is still contracted so he holds all the aces. I doubt he will be offered a new deal after when his contract is over.

Get Hurrell off the books problem solved. He is off contract and a big earner who is as quoted elsewhere “ more rocks than diamonds)!

Peter Smith reporting that Austin is a done deal. 12 month contract although a deal to bring him in for the rest of the season hasn't been ruled out. Surprised its only 12 months.

Very surprised only 1 year deal (plus possibly rest of this). I wonder why… Trueman? Back to NRL? He’s only 30.

Maybe both sides just want to have a look see. It would be great to get him this year, but seems quite doubtful to me. Firstly, we'd have to settle with Lui, and secondly what is in releasing Austin to a direct competitor for Warrington? It would weaken their squad and really strengthen ours. Unless they have salary cap worries (and they have already released Inglis) surely they would be tempted to keep till the end of his contract.

Very true. I’m excited to see how this develops personally, been a long time since we’ve recruited this well

Leeds are getting him very cheap for one year. Gives him an opportunity to really back himself - with Gale off contract at the end of next year, there's a large wedge of salary cap up for grabs for a good performer. For him, he's playing behind one of the best packs in the league which should give him a great chance to show his skills either to get the proper contract at Leeds or to really warm up the market for him after a difficult year at Warrington. Plus, of course, playing for Leeds is quite attractive in its own right.

Wherever he ends up playing, from our point of view he adds depth in class to the entire backline and puts pressure on Gale and Seizer to perform.

Trueman could be a possibility Gale also off contract.

Suspect everything will be announced next week. I would say all parties had agreed to get the Warrington game out of the way first for obvious reasons.
