You dont think that what happened inside the house was aggravated by two blokes forcibly breaking into a property while intoxicated to confront a woman?
The offence of common assault doesn't just relate to physical contact, it also includes placing the victim in fear of assault IIRC. This wasn't two drunk blokes going at it in a street, this was two grown men who had ample opportunity to reconsider forcing their way into a property to confront someone.
