I think the fact that we have added Puletua and you've missed out on Eastwood and are forced to play Ablett (who is cack) has made a big difference.

One thing that stood out for me at Old Trafford was the size of your second row compared to ours (e.g. JJB/Lauitiiti against Wilkin/Gilmour) making your pack much stronger - not the case so far this season.

I like Potters recent comments on the game. I think you have dropped on a real gem there.

We all have them!

Unlike Potter, I have to say I always thought we had enough and never really felt the game was in the balance.

That is, of course, apart from the last play of the match when I thought you were about to do us with a Wide To West of your own!!

Just on the centres, the whole idea this year was to give Smith/Watkins/Gibson game time and let one of them make right centre their own. Personally, I think that is still the right way to go. Let's assume for a second that Watkins takes another season or so to mature. In the meantime we have Smith (at least for a while) who could take the role, and Gibson, who may or may not have what it takes. Far rather that than sign a nobody centre from Aus who may be slightly better than what we have now but prevents all three getting first team experience.

When Senior quits I would hope that if one of the locals hasn't become a star then Leeds should look to sign a big name - not a Carmont but a top drawer Aussie. like Matt King...

As for Wilkin, he and Sinfield are very good club players but hopelessly ill-equipped for internationals IMO.

Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

And coach and CEO don't ever forget them. The legitimate subjects discussed within this thread have been bubbling along in other threads since around the Hull KR game. I don't see the need for a loss to talk crap.

I'm a little more cautious than some of my fellow fans in that while it is always great to beat Leeds (great is actually an understatement), and to do so with the style that we have the last twice, I think that Leeds have yet to hit form. Once they do, and they will, we may not have such a good time of it especially since our form is bound to dip at some point in the season.

Unless we're in for another 2006 and that would be just amazing.

I'd agree with that one - although i don't think Ablett is cack. Add to that the loss of Ellis and your pack looks like having the edge at the moment.

I just think Leeds and Saints are so far ahead of everyone it is embarrassing so generally I only compare us with you as you're the only side I believe capable of stopping us and vice versa unless either put in a woeful performance. It is the simple things which have surprised me with Leeds so far this season. For instance.....

Defensively Leeds are not anywhere near as good as Saints right now.

Going forward I feel you could play all day and not score anywhere near enough times to beat us at the moment.

Saints' forwards are bullying Leeds', which I haven't seen happen for a long time.

Leeds have no structure at all and are tactically way out from previous years.

In general, Leeds have gone backwards when I expected this to be the year when they would really dominate and win the double.

Anyway, I'm sure it will improve hugely and there will be some huge games between us yet to come this season.

This is the usual sort of drivel/arrogance that usually un-does Saints at some point in the season.

Saints played very well on Sunday, were worthy winners, and at the mo are easily the best team in the comp. Its called form. Just as easily as it comes, it can go - injuries/suspensions/prison sentences permitting.

The cup is now yours to lose - yet another boringly one sided final looms, but given theres 6 months until the grand final, much will change
