Maybe, I don't track that stuff too closely. You get my point though. We could see quite a bit of change without other clubs needing the cash to buy our players.

You can make the argument about the lack of proven quality, but there's a definite surplus there. If Cuthbertson leaves then I think we'll promote Mik and Holroyd will take Mik's place in the squad.
I'm not convinced that Cuthbertson will leave, to be honest.

If Cam plays at 13 and we lose Ward then there's only real quality in Martin and maybe Mellor.On the plus side Walters is probably the best young second row in the game but is unproven at SL level.

Donaldson may not have all the silky skills of others but he is the perfect workhorse foil to let Smith and Martin do their thing. You then have mellor as you say and the t o suttys to add squad numbers.

As I said on a different post. I don't want ward to go but if he does we have good coverage so we don't need to rush into a bad decision about replacing him.

Agreed about Donaldson being a workhorse but he's generally used at the latter stages to bolster the defence.I still think we are short of real quality if Ward leaves.I do as ive mentioned earlier have big hopes for Walters.A choice of second back row of Martin ,Mellor,Ward and if Walters becomes the player we all hope then that looks pretty mouth watering.Smith will be at loose.

Just read that. Not sure how I feel tbh. Looked a worldy for a brief moment but hasn't been the same since his knee injury. Is he really a big step up from mellor and is he worth probably blocking Walters given how highly those closer to these things seem to rate him?

It just doesn't really give me that warm fuzzy feeling.
