It would have been nice if he'd carved out a spot in our prop rotation. But he had different ideas about his preferred position and the amount of game time he deserved.In terms of positions/prospects, James McDonnell was far more consistent for us in the back-row last season. As a prospect, Gannon fitted in better than Walters did in his first season in the first team in the same position. At prop, Walters was always going to be behind quite a few players but if he 'wanted it' in that position he could have potentially pressured the likes of Holroyd and Oledski in future seasons.
Having seen Moz play for Leeds as a youngster in the 1990s there's no way Walters has hit that level yet. Apart from maybe the dodgy shoulder he got away with in the win over Saints
