It does look like we are trying to create cap space for someone else. Sutton would be more likely than Burgess IMO.

Looks very much like a couple of signings still to be made; cracking off-season recruitment in theory.

it's been a great bit of recruitment so far, best for many years, and if Kershaw comes in for Olpherts and we get another good prop in it's probably the best ever off season recruitment.

Nothing is won on paper as we know BUT it's a great place to be starting pre season.

All true, but other than the usual really dodgy SARL clickbait article I can't see anything about Sutton being made available. I'm sure if that were to be the case we'd be all over it and perhaps we already are.

Without wanting to reignite any RS debates (probably..), I can’t see much more he could have done so far this off-season. He’s ruthless in clearing out dead wood and we needed that. We’re not quite done yet both other than 1 more prop the recruitment looks pretty faultless.

I totally agree jim. supurb off season.
but.he will be judged on performances and squad overhaul will be forgotten if its a poor start.

Yeah and with changing so much in one go, especially the playmakers, there is risk.

Was disappointed we missed Eseh but that may have been the player. Hudson could be similar though. There is clearly some mileage in the Olpherts out rumours if we are also rumoured to have got Kershaw.

The magic sauce nobody can account for now is luck - we need all players to come through a tough pre-season unscathed and stay healthy through the season.

If we do have a bad start and Smith goes (I hope this doesn’t happen) then whoever comes in will have a decent squad to work with, which ironically will be down to Smith.
