Where else is elsewhere, besides a centre to replace MacDonald? Half back is THE position we need most, a pairing of Frawley and myler would be very one dimensional.

Gannon is a different type of player to Martin and will have some whack about him with his size and aggression when he fills out. That’s my point really: Martin is strong but does he offer enough difference to the others I mentioned - maybe he doesn’t need to. If we are running light in the second row though it puts even more emphasis on the props to do the heavy lifting and it looks like they are struggling.

He's effectively a second loose forward/lock who would provide a more direct option to Smith's footballing version of the same position. Week in week out ( assuming we have 4 fit props) I think he'll play 5th middle off the bench, which is what he essentially does for Catalans. Don't know what we'll do with Martin but I'm pretty sure his value has increased on the open market. If we wanted to keep him we'd have competition.

An extra back as well as Momorovski wouldn’t be a bad idea. Newman and Fusi likely to miss more than they play (was lunacy resigning Fusitu’a).
A top end 9’ would revolutionise this team. Such a shame we just missed out on Levi. Neither of our two young incumbents should be any more than backups imho…

Despite what some are saying I'm sure we'll get a half back. It's just a question of who and how good they are.

Will be interesting to see RS first selection with a fully fit squad.

Actually come round to thinking Hudson might be an alright signing. See what the club can pull out of the hat next… there must be something to boost ST sales and they know expectations are very high in the fan base.

Leeds need an experienced pack leader or failing that a positive addition to the coaching staff to develop and guide our relatively young pack. While being an ex player does not necessarily make you a good coach we have RS who never played professional rugby. Chev Walker a threequarter who never stood out as a potential leader and Grix who played all his career at FB or in the halves.
Hopefully we sign a top half and another quality prop but for me we also need to invest in an experienced coach to work with our forwards. I would rather see us run with CJ and JOC but look at a top quality retired 9 to come in and work with them on their development. Don't all throw JJB at me!

Personally once we sign another first grade / senior centre to replace MacDonald, I’m happy with what we have as cover underneath. We have some good outside backs coming through who will be better for a few months pre-season training, plus players like Martin and McDonnell who can cover centre for the odd match.

As others have said priority must be a half - I.e. we must sign one hell or high water if we want to progress as a team.

Then prop for me, then hooker would be a luxury but I would go for H Smith to bring in some direct competition to CJ and JOC.

I think given Levi fell through, we’re gonna have to run with what we have and take the risk. I don’t really want Powell from Wigan I have to say.

I just hope we get a v good HB. That's one thing we can't cope without. It's a bit too early for Sinfield,though I do hope he gets more game time this year
