Staines has played Fullback, Wing & Centre at NRL level so with that sort of versatility you'd imagine he is probably someone Rohan has looked at and had contact with but like I said doesn't mean we are or have signed him.

Interesting piece on Yorks Live re players who have played every game of the season. Welsby, Dodd and Lomax for Saints. French and Smith for the Pies. Lachlan Lam for Leigh. Not one of our senior spine players even gets close. So not only did we have an acknowledged gap in ability, we also had a big gap in availability. If our incoming players (who hopefully will be better) can stay on the field we'll give ourselves a great chance. On a related note, do we hold ourselves to a higher standard when it comes to the concussion process? I often hear Smith say we've referred a player to a specialist (I'm not saying this is wrong) and the recommendation has been weeks, sometimes months of recovery. Has anybody else noticed that. In fairness I should say Jones at Huddersfield has just retired due to concussion issues.

I think RS particularly protects young players like Gannon, which I agree with.

For me even just 2 quality signings would make a huge difference now.

I would be tempted to run with Johnson at 9 next season honestly; if we get the pack right around him he does have quality.

At a stretch you could move Miller to six, where he has played all his NSW cup rugby this year, and play Staines at full back. That would bring bags of pace to the spine, but little control. Feels like we are entering silly season in terms of rumours. Let's hope the club puts us out of our misery soon.

Im sure Smith has said in the past that as a club we do have higher standards on concussions than the requirements.

This should be commended imo

Not saying it shouldn't, I just wondered if we were following a different process.

Doubt that very much.
Is pretty much standard and cautious protocols in all of SL now, and that’s fine.

Handley is most definitely and out-and-out winger and he'll be much happier if he spends the whole of next season there.

Okay my requests to Leeds:
1) sign Croft or someone of similar quality at 7, make it happen. Don't just go for the best value option, we need the best player we can attract. (Quota, marquee)
2) sign a new senior centre but on a 2 year if possible. We have a ton of talent coming through at centre and wing. (Quota)

3) if Eseh is not done to another club yet, get him and Harvey Smith from Wakey.
4) play Johnson at 9 from the start of next year and have O'Connor as back up for 9, 7, 13. Do not sign another senior 9 unless they are a worldie.
5) SIGN MCDONNELL ON A LONGER CONTRACT NOW

That's it, simples.

These were all names I was given how else are players supposed to be linked with a club other than media attention/ speculation? And just because we've been in talks or are in talks with players doesn't mean they are gonna sign does it the who reason for forums like this is so people can share information & opinions isn't it? Also Stanies is a outside back but why can't we be linked or in talks with him he's a outside back and we are currently looking for a outside bsck aren't we? Your really living up to your name as Whino4life aren't you

Once a whino, always a whino. I agree with your statements except when people copy and paste names and then say someone told me we have spoken to these people like they are buddies with Gary H or something. That's when it gets boring.
