Singleton Peteru Ferres Myler Golding should go. But only if better replacements are available (Obviously Gale has replaced Myler)

In the golden era only Bailey really features and his job was made easier by others so still yet to see who was the last real top quality prop leeds produced.

I just said Luke Burgess. We boobed allowing him to go. A success in Aus too, before injury.

We have four or five decent academy production prospects at prop now.

That Salford game was a cracker. There’s something a bit magical about RL at this time of year, when the stakes rise and the autumn hits. Hopefully Leeds will be featuring there again before too long.

How brave / daft is Smithies? Tangled with old pros, took the next hit up into their middles and got absolutely smashed, back up again doing his work in D after.

Burgess wasn't a success here. Played a few games amongst the family hype then quietly left. Miles behind his brothers.

That’s not correct Brisbane. He was the first, and certainly played more than a few games before his injury. Without that he would have continued over there first team every week. He’d played more NRL games in the NRL by the time he was 25, than a hell of a lot of 28 year olds that come over he have played. To be fair Rhyse Martin would be an example there. Not as many games in NRL at same age Burgess was.

By the time he was 25 he’d played 10 NRL games. He played 18 more in the same season he was 25. So you could argue 28 games (16 of them off the bench).
I think to be described as a success in the NRL you need more than that in either appearances or quality in that time frame. And let’s not pretend that Souths would have signed in the first place had he not been a Burgess.

I used 25 as an example, and it was a correct point. He had 70 games in the NRL, which completely contradicts your non success story. Like I said, much better record than a hell of a lot that come over here. It was only the injury that stopped those games racking up. What bench has to do with it god knows. Ava played just over 30 games more than him, and he had never started a game in the NRL.

The point is though, he was a better prop than Danny Ward, and he came later.
