Crooksy was a great player who had the potential to be the best forward in the world.Leeds did overpay for him but he still played well for us. I don't think his commitment was in question but his lifestyle away from Rugby allied to injuries affected his consistency and impact.Back then the game was changing quickly in Australia and the old style ball playing front row was being replaced by athletes who looked after themselves away from the game.At that time there were a number of great pubs (many closed now) that you could visit on a Monday afternoon and you could make up 2 teams of quality players from the local clubs who were socialising after playing on Sunday.
