Ferres has been a poor signing overall. His last few months were much better though. If merrin is off, he's variable if filming some of that role, but if be underwhelmed if it happened.

Got a horrible feeling if we lose Merrin and keep ferres that ferres will be captain.

I guess only the club really know how well Ward is travelling. If he is fully fit and mentally up for next season then he would get the c for me. If not then maybe Gale.

Ferres does bring physicality and aggression, but I say we run with Ward, Mellor and Martin as first choice back row. We have some skill and mobility there. I’d have
Mellor and Martin running the edges and Ward at loose.

Would rather not put extra pressure on Ward, especially after what happened with Watkins.

Ferres shouldn't even be retained, let alone made captain.

Gale isn't a bad shout but it would have to be contingent upon him gelling with the team in pre-season. If the signings of Merrin and Hurrell put some noses out of joint at the start of 2019, what's to say a big-money big-ego player like Gale would command instant respect as captain?

Watched the press conference. Gale spoke well. Can see real desire there. Nice to hear Agar confirm that they have lined up other recruits from nrl and are looking to replace Merrin if he leaves. Some of the possible signings are under contract also...

You can't say that last bit on here, it won't be understood. So many posters on here do not understand the concept that players can be brought in when under contract, we have been through this many times. Only players out of contract are what are considered as a potential to sign.

You can do what you like as an employer within the law, but if you treat your staff like cattle they'll treat you transactionally in return.

And you can't break the law - and contracts are legally binding which is the point of them.
